I contacted the Dream Marriage support line, which is available 24hrs per day. I wanted to know what kind of screening process they go through before being placed on the site. I was happy to see that they go to great lengths to ensure each women’s sincerity. The folks at Dream Marriage do background checks on each girl and check the hard copies of their passports and other critical documents. Then they meet with the girl at one of the Dream Marriage offices for an interview. If she passes all those tests they have a sit down with the parents and meet the whole family. Let me tell you from experience that none of the other marriage or dating services do this. In fact, on one tour I went to into in Moscow, I was horrified to learn that the agency simply placed an advertisement in the newspaper telling the girls there was a free party where they could meet American men. What a joke and I’m sure you can imagine what kind of riff-raff that brought in.

One girl on the Dream Marriage site really caught my eye and we begin writing to each other everyday. In less than six months I made the trip to Sevastopol where Dream Marriage set up a great apartment for me, which was very reasonable! I’m not a rich guy, just a blue collar worker. Even on my modest budget I was able to live like a king for those 2 weeks. Dream Marriage treated me as first class guest all the way, with pick ups and transfers in a nice car and a talented, beautiful translator to get me around the city with ease. Her parents and the whole family for that matter treated me as one of their own. I called the Dream Marriage representative and asked to extend my stay another week. During the last week of my first trip I did propose and it was nerve wracking – I did it in front of her entire family! She said yes and I immediately started on the immigration process. This part can be very confusing but once again, Dream Marriage walked me through it step by step. That part actually went quite smoothly and Svetlana is here with me now in the US , I’m a very happy man.
Svetlana is only 11 years younger than me and we have many of the same interests. She is taking some college courses and wants to get into nursing one day but wants to have a family first. In Russia, family is everything, so we plan on having at least 2 kids. Svetlana is amazing, she literally cant sleep at night unless the house is absolutely spotless. I don’t ask her to do this, it was just part of her upbringing which was instilled in her from a very young age. She told me that she joined Dream marriage because one of her friends met and married a nice guy from Denmark and she also dreamed of finding such happiness.
